Be at peace with anger

It's ok to be angry - it's what you do with the anger that matters. Anger helps us. With it we can set boundaries and define our values. Acting out in passive aggressive behavior does nothing to honor this. Be direct and honest about what makes you angry and target the value not the "thing." Use it to recognize that something is not OK. However, if you gossip, communicate with sarcasm or turn off listening, you will gain nothing. Take a moment to be at peace with what makes you angry and learn from it.

Quit or Not to Quit?

There are many times when we just want to give up on whatever is draining us. It's ok to sometimes say, "I'm done!" If you are drained and not energized, you may need to walk away - but only if you have exhausted all possibilities. There are times when quitting is the easiest thing to do but not necessarily the right thing to do. Get help from good friends or professionals before making a rash decision. Only after you have carefully weighed the pros and cons, should you move on.

Words We Use

Watch the words you use to describe yourself.  Words can be either healthy or toxic.  It depends on context and intent.  If you mean yourself harm when you call yourself "stupid" then you are using words in a toxic manner and it will harm you.  Once, maybe not but my guess if you've said it once, you've said it a lot.  Say harmful words enough and they will start to own you.  I use self-deprecating humour only to make people laugh.  If it's something I belive then I watch it closely.  Watch your toxic works and if you can't help but think they are true.  Change the words you use and you'll see a difference.

Happiness is Contagious!

Not sure how to feel better when you are down?  Instead of just complaining, call someone who is always happy!  Surely there is someone out there that always makes you laugh.  Yesterday, I was a little down in the morning but, I then saw the funniest Youtube video about a cat that puts it's head under the faucet.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW_-oyAldfo I was intantly in a better mood.  From now on, I'm going to search Youtube for humor!

What Kind of Message Are You Sending?

When we are in a negative state, it doesn't matter what we say - people will still feel our negativity.  You can say "yes" to people but, if you are coming from a place of "no" people will get a sense that you are saying no anyway.   Are you not engaged with them?  Are you holding back?  Have you stopped giving to them?   Better to open up, be honest.  They will misinterpet the body language if you don't let them know what's going on with you.  No matter how much you think you are hiding, people still see you.

Sometimes it's just hard...

...to do anything.  But I keep trying and never give up.  I allow myself one moment of pity party and then I start my mind over again.  I have to tell myself that I can do it.  If I tell myself that I can't...then I won't.  I accept that sometimes it will be hard and sometimes it will be easy.  However, the it's things that are hard to over come that makes us proud and grateful.
